Yeah, homelessness is a real problem in the US. It’s a shame that we can’t just solve this problem in the most efficient and least expensive way, apparently because of the attitude of “Why should someone else get something for free when I had to work my ass off?” Many people would rather pay more just so that someone else doesn’t get something for “free.”
