This is a such a great question, Jonathan. There are so many possible ways to answer this, all of them "true". I'll just give a little bit here.

Nothing changes with the recognition that what is really happening is changeless.

Nothing really changes for "me" because there is no me. There is no separation.

Nothing in the appearance is permanent. Everything is in flux, continually. Wholeness seems to be appearing as what's happening completely fresh and new all the time, complete, fulfilled, and as if it is totally ephemeral.

But on another level, there is a recognition (by no one) that there never was anyone to experience anything, or to control anything. So, on some level, there's a recognition that nothing is personal. Even if an illusion of separation/self seems to "return," as if there is really a movement of time, that also is completely impersonal.

Taking things personally is completely impersonal. It's not about anyone or for anyone. If taking things personally seems to be what's happening, then that's just what's happening: the absolute appearing as taking things personally.

I could also tell a story that "my" life went down a different path because of the awakening, but that would suggest that there is more than one thing happening, more than one possible way. As if there is choice, as if life is an experiment, as if there is any real cause and effect. There is only this.
