Right. The illusion of self, the illusion of separation is continually attempting to pattern-match between memories appearing and what seems to be happening, trying to hold together a narrative or a context. What’s happening has no context and there is no other time or place.
But any sufficiently sophisticated pattern matching process will inevitably come to the conclusion that it has a past and a future and that it must survive. Totally not necessary.
