I think you missed the point. Pain is not an illusion. Pain is pain; it’s the subject of the pain that is an illusion. Next time you feel pain, try to find the subject. There’s no subject. The is just pain. There is just seeing, hearing, thinking, feeling. It’s not personal. There is no subject. There is nothing conscious of anything else.

Oh, yeah, when there is a self-illusion running, which happens from time to time, there will be a feeling that there is an “me” inside this body and then it seems that there are a bunch of other “me”s in other bodies and we all seem to be conspiring to agree on the reality of the “me.” But there’s no evidence for it.

What’s happening is happening unwitnessed. It’s impossible for the self-illusion to get this or to accept this. It keeps trying to cling on to an idea of separation and it will twist anything that’s happening to seem to be evidence of itself. It will even claim that what is happening is subject even though there is clearly no subject and no objects.
