I love this perspective, Rhonda. So diametrically opposite to our actual relationship, but a wonderful reinterpretation of my words and feelings. I hope our relationship is not as you paint it.

I don’t call her a little child, or treat her with disrespect. My training and experience as a therapist enables me to understand that she’s acting-out because she’s regressed, which is what we all do. This enables me to not take her attacks personally, to not get triggered myself, and to hug her, love her, and listen to her needs.
